Differential Cryptanalysis
Master’s project
Differential cryptanalysis is a subtle, beautiful, and powerful method of breaking some of the world’s strongest ciphers. Despite its significance, educational resources on the subject are scarce, and those that do exist can be difficult to follow, particularly for readers new to cryptography. This tutorial, developed as my Master’s project, aims to bridge that gap by introducing differential cryptanalysis to beginners through an interactive, self-contained webpage that requires no prior knowledge of the subject.
Alongside the tutorial, I developed a small HTML component library in C and three Python implementations of differential cryptanalysis. The first demonstrates the technique against a simple toy cipher. The second applies it to a more complex substitution-permutation network (SPN) cipher, prioritizing readability over efficiency. The third provides a more sophisticated implementation, demonstrating a practical approach to attacking generic SPN ciphers.
Standard Ebooks
Producing public-domain ebooks
Standard Ebooks is a volunteer-run project that produces free, open-source editions of public domain ebooks. It’s an organization close to my heart that brings together two of my passions: open-source software and reading, especially the classics that have entered the public domain. Each book follows a rigorous, modern style manual, which ensures a consistent, professional-grade typographic standard.
At the heart of the process is a command-line tool that automates many of the routine steps. In addition to producing books, I’ve contributed to this software, helping make the process smooth for contributors without a technical background.
After producing a few books, I was promoted to reviewer, a role that involves guiding new contributors through their first productions and signing off on their work before it moves on for final inspection.
ebukafy
Convert text into ebooks
Ebukafy is an open-source collection of command-line tools used to convert html or text files into ebooks, with over 3,000 downloads on npm. It automates everything from chapter splitting and smart quote conversion to generating metadata and a table of contents.
I often run across interesting articles or stories that I’d love to read away from the distraction of a browser screen. Ebukafy allows me to quickly convert that text into an ebook that I can read on my e-reader.
daedalus
Maze generation algorithms
Daedalus is a website built with React which showcases different algorithms for maze generation with adjustable maze size and ability to step and play through the generation. It includes the following algorithms: Randomized Depth First Search, Randomized Kruskal’s Algorithm, Randomized Prim’s Algorithm, and Wilson’s Algorithm.
I love finding interesting algorithms with cool visualizations. I first encountered randomized depth first search as a maze generation algorithm in high school but was dissapointed by its long, intersection-less corridors — they were too easy to solve! This inspired me to learn about more sophisticated algorithms that generate non-biased, perfect mazes.

Programmer Analyst
Aug 2026 – PresentOregon Bankruptcy Court
Promoted to administrator of courtroom technology, workstation software, and communication systems, with expanded programming duties. Removed 120 unused dead-code files from a decades-old, business-critical codebase, improving readability; documented the cleanup and archived the files for future reference.
Systems Analyst / Programmer
Jul 2023 – Aug 2026Oregon Bankruptcy Court
Rewrote a search script for a mission-critical codebase, parallelizing grep with xargs to cut search time from 10 minutes to 2. Built an automated deployment process standardizing laptop configurations, cutting build time from 3 days to 8 hours. Created scripts automating developer application setup, ensuring consistency across machines.
Software Developer
Aug 2025 – Jan 2026Digital Copilot
Implemented an algorithm predicting aircraft takeoff and landing positions from ADS-B data, flagging collisions up to 90 seconds ahead; validated against real incidents. Built a Godot application visualizing predicted flight paths with collision warnings. Developed a Python pipeline to collect, interpolate, and standardize historical flight data.
Open Source Contributor
Feb 2020 – Apr 2023Standard Ebooks
Produced 13 books for Standard Ebooks, a volunteer project creating free, open-source modern editions of public domain ebooks. Contributed Python code to its production tools. Promoted to reviewer after two years, checking other contributors’ books for typos and formatting issues before publication.
